About Marie Curie and The Strathspey Railway
In aid of Marie Curie, The Strathspey Railway offer a steamin’ Soup and Sandwich Lunch Special. Served aboard the 12.30pm lunchtime service on Thursday 10th October, this is a stunning steam trip with a difference. Proceeds from the event go straight to the Marie Curie Highland Unit.
Through this annual event, the Strathspey Railway Special supports the 32 Highland nurses that provided nearly 20,000 hours of care to 379 patients throughout the North of Scotland. The high quality nursing care is provided totally free of charge and gives people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.
